According to Access Hollywood, Joss twisted her ankle doing charity work in Uganda… and her injury will not affect her tour schedule.
Joss was seen at the Ivy, on Crutches. I have yet to find any details of the injury, but will update if I find out any details. Also it looks like her hair is now purple.
Here is the new video from Angelique Kidjo featuring Joss Stone “Gimme A Shelter”
Its a really good video that intermixes city scenes with scenes from Darfur. Both women have such amazing voices that this song is amazing.
Joss’s mom, Wendy Joseph has opened a music academy in Devon, England.
Joss is still in good relations with her mom, although she no longer is her manager. Joss fired her mom as her manager earlier this year after learning she was having an affair with her drummer/music director.
At that point, I just had to send my mom home. She took care of me and did a good job, but it was time for me to move on.
“It’s ridiculous having your mother manage you. I said so at the time, but no one wanted to listen to me.
“I wanted a real manager, someone with 30 years in the business. Not my mom.
“We’re still very tight, and anything she needs, she has it.”
Mama Stone’s Song Writing and Studio Music Academy is run jointly by Wendy and her husband Jonathan Joseph, who was Joss’s musical director and drummer.
Wendy said: “Having spent three years travelling around the world as Joss’s manager I learnt a lot about the music industry and I am always being asked by people in the area for advice and tips.
“That’s why we decided to launch this academy so that over four weeks we can help people gain skills to help launch their music careers.”
The academy even has its own website, where they are definitely using Joss’s fame as a selling point.

Wonder who did the body art on Joss for her album cover?

You can read all about graffiti artist Jonathan Cohen in the Christian Science Monitor.
Here is en excerpt from the article talking about Joss
Last December, Cohen got a call from someone representing Joss Stone, the popular R&B singer. Ms. Stone wanted to use 5 Pointz as the backdrop for the music video of her song “Tell Me ‘Bout It.” Cohen had no idea who she was, but after talking to her, he gave her crew the go-ahead. He even did a mural of Stone’s face for the video, in which he appears at the end.
Cohen also flew to Los Angeles to paint Stone’s body for the cover of her latest album, “Introducing Joss Stone.” He had never used powdery body paint before or painted anyone’s entire body, but “I’ll never turn down a job,” he says
Joss made her acting debut this past year. She played the young fortune-teller, Angela in Eragon. MTV interviewed her regarding the role.
MTV: I always wonder how a musician gets into acting. Do you put out the word that you want a movie, or do they come to you?
Joss Stone: I know! It is really strange. I was like, “Why do you want me? I’m a singer, for Christ’s sake.” I don’t know why ["Eragon" director Stefen Fangmeier] wanted me, but he did. I’m always getting approached for films — maybe they see me onstage and see the way I get all emotional. But I was like, “Hey, let’s do it.” I never really take anything seriously until I have to, and acting is fun. I never thought I’d do it, but hey, why not, man?
MTV: Tell us about the first day you walked on set as a big-time actress.
Stone: It was very scary. [Speleers] was really sweet; he’s such a nice boy. He’s one year younger than me, and I felt like I had to talk his face off to warn him about what was going to happen to him — he’s gonna become humongous in five seconds [after this comes out]. I was actually quite sick, and I was so tired when I did it, but that didn’t matter because my character is quite weird anyway, so that played into it.
MTV: I know that you’re dyslexic — did that make it hard to read your lines?
Stone: Yes, it was really difficult for me to learn the script. I applaud the people who can be leads in a movie. To remember all those lines! Remembering them is one thing, but then performing them and really feeling them, you have to know it like the back of your hand. I can read just fine, but it takes me a little time and sometimes I’ll get distracted and read backwards.
